Alive Again

People will let you down. They don't mean to.. but they almost always do. But they let you down when they don't live up to your expectations of them.

What would happen if you had no expectations of them? Could they let you down then?

Can you imagine going through life without expectations?

Think about it.

When you can live without expecting... you'll be alive again :)

Blessings!

Why Do I?

Why do I do the things that I do? Do I know why I'm doing what I do?

But in the first place, do we have the time to ask ourselves such questions?

Most of us don't.

Most of us merely rush through each day, from one appointment to another, until we burn ourselves out.

And at the end of each day, most of us have to find ways and means to destress ourselves.

But does life have to be this way?

Do we have to justify the way we live by always using the same old excuse: "I have no choice".

Why Choose To Suffer?

Like it or not, all of us have the privilege of choice.

Even if you were to say that you have no choice in what you must do to earn a living, you still have the choice to change your employer or profession.

But most of us choose to remain in our current, unbearable situations because we do not dare to make a change in our lives.

It would therefore be correct to say that we have no choice but to fall victim to our fears.

Why Don't I Change My Life?

Most of us fear change.

We find comfort in the "familiar" and are thankful that we've been able to somehow manage to come so far without incident.

We cling to our past achievements which serve as life bouys in an ocean of uncertainty.

We dare not let go lest we get swept away into the great unknown.

Fear of the unknown prevents us from changing our lives.

What Is Fear?

It has often been said that there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

But what does this mean?

I am fearful of failure before undertaking any task, new or tried.

My first concern is the risk of failure.

If the risk is too high, I would prefer not to do it. I might even be tempted to redirect or delegate the task to someone else.

(shame on me!)

But on hindsight, I have been able to accomplish what others have deemed to be "impossible" tasks.

I managed such achievements because no one had told me that such tasks were impossible to accomplish. In the bliss of ignorance, I managed to accomplish the "impossible".

Free of fear, I managed to focus on what needed to be done.

Fear creates a mental block that prevents us from performing at our optimum ability.

Why Don't I Believe In Myself

People often demoralise or even chide us.

If we do not believe in ourselves, then who will?

However, we have the highest chance of success when we choose to believe in ourselves.

Belief transforms into reality if it is pure and free from doubt.

Believe In Yourself

You are either your greatest friend or your worst foe.

If you do not believe in yourself, then you would be doing things with one arm tied at your back, both legs tied together and one eye closed.

When you choose to believe in yourself, you optimize your chances of success.

The stronger and purer the belief in yourself, the greater your chances of success shall be.

Be all that you were meant to be.

Believe in yourself and in time, others shall believe in you.

But you start by asking yourself: "Why Do I?".
